In order for this device to be therapeutic, it needs to remain in place. It can frequently dislodge due to friction against bra and clothing. The protective coverings will prevent anything from touching the device and the ointment helps with the elasticity of the nipple, provides comfort and creates a better seal around the Supple Cups and your skin. The storage container is a nice addition not offered with other retailers.

While the Supple Cups may not allow for as much suction as the Niplette, it is less expensive, can be sterilized and cleaned easily and unless it is lost or purposely torn, it is practically indestructible. The Niplette can many times need to be replaced as it will not last forever. Unlike the Avent Niplette, the Supple Cups are available in different sizes. The Niplette thimble does have a small hole opening where the tube inserts and elicits direct suction on the nipple tissue which can lead to a blister formation on the side of the areola or nipple if you are not careful. . This is not a problem with the Supple Cups. I recommend the Supple Cups to women that have purchased the Niplette for use after the initial treatment time. Once the nipple has been treated, the supple cups work best for maintenance.

Sizing

The Supple Cups are available in different sizes. Do not worry about measuring. Contact us directly if you feel your nipples are excessively large. Most people will be able to wear the standard size that I send. If you are a male or very young adolescent, please order #1, If you are an adult female with very small nipples, you may want the #1, but small-normal nipples should do fine with ordering #2. If your nipples are normal , then the #3 would be best as it may allow for greater suction.  If your nipples are really large, then the #4 and #5 are available. Use the measurements below in the drop down menu if unsure. The #3 is about the same size as the outer rim of the Niplette. I've been selling the Niplette since 1999 and have not had a client that was unable to use the Niplette as a one size fits all device..

Other products needed for ease of use

IMPORTANT: It is absolutely necessary that a nipple ointment be used; and the protective coverings are often needed as well. Otherwise, many bra types will cause it to come off immediately. While this product is cheaper than the Niplette, adding the Shells and the ointment still keeps the total cost lower than the Niplette. (The Niplette also requires the ointment and most of the time, the Shells too.) Men do not need to purchase Shells as they do not wear bras, but men will need the nipple ointment too.

Pregnant or Breastfeeding?

It can't be used for permanent correction while lactating because the breastmilk will fill up the thimble and limit the length of time it can be worn, but  it still  can be very beneficial when used before latching the baby on to help draw out the nipple in the first few days after birth. If you are currently pregnant, inform your OB that you are using the device during pregnancy.

Returns
 All items sold with MFTH are personal care items, so if opened or used, they cannot be returned,  only items in resalable condition can be returned and no returns after 30 days. Returns subject to a 10 % restocking fee plus actual shipping charges. Please contact Mothering From The Heart before sending any returns for approval.

Warranty

Contact the manufacturer directly for defective products. Breastpumps are covered by the manufacturers warranty and they will vary according to which product is purchased. Any defective products also need to be reported to us!
